I am researching the Woodward/Woodard family descended from Strother Woodward born about 1828. The 1850 Rappahannock County, VA census shows him in the household of Scott Woodward and his wife Ann. Strother's brother is Gabriel Woodward born about 1826. I know that Strother married Mary Ann "Polly" Dodson in Rappahannock County in 1852. He died at Bethesda Church during the Battle of Wilderness in 1864, leaving two sons, Joseph Booten Woodward (b. 1854) and Samuel Johnson Woodward (b. 1856). Is Scott Woodward the same person as Samuel S. Woodward?
