Notes for MARY WOODSON:
Mary Woodson is shown to be the daughter of Joseph Woodson and Susannah Watkins by Laurie Retzlaff; The Woodson who married Poindexter Mosby was shown as "Unknown" in the Woodson publications. Laurie Retzlaff shows she was born 1734 but if they married in 1743, she would have only been nine years old when she married, so either the marriage date or the birth date is wrong. It would be more likely to be 1724 which would make her a bit older than her husband. Rod Warren, email yendor@new.rr.cm shows he married "Elizabeth" Woodson, daughter of Joseph Woodson and Susannah Watkins, born 1728, Henrico County, VA, died 1777, Cumberland County, VA.

LITTLEBERRY5 MOSBY (BENJAMIN4, SARAH3 WOODSON, ROBERT2, JOHN1) was born 29 January 1728 in Font Hill, Cumberland (later Powhatan) County, VA, and died 14 January 1809 in Font Hill, Cumberland (later Powhatan) County, VA. He married (1) MARTHA SCOTT. He married (2) ELIZABETH NETHERLAND 1748, daughter of JOHN NETHERLAND and SARAH UNKNOWN. She died August 1769. He married (3) JUDITH MICHAUX Aft. 1769, daughter of JACOB MICHAUX and JUDITH WOODSON. She was born 1740, and died 20 June 1789.

Notes for LITTLEBERRY MOSBY:
Littleberry Mosby, son of Benjamin Mosby of Henrico, Goochland and Cumberland Counties (VA) and his wife Mary Poindexter, was born 1729, lived at Font Hill, Cumberland (later Powhatan) County, 9VA) and died there in 1809. He was a vestryman of Southam Parish; a member of the Cumberland County Committee of Safety, 1775-76; member of the first Court of Powhatan County, which was organized at his residence; County Lieutenant of Powhatan, 1780-81; High Sheriff, 1797; chairman of a board to establish an Academy in Powhatan County. His will made January 6, 1809, was proved March 15 of that year. He mentions the children by his first wife Elizabeth Netherland; and to Benjamin Mosby by his second wife (Judith Michaux) he left the Font Hill plantation, which he states was "purchased of Phillip Mayo". Powhatan W. B. 3:292 from The Huguenot Abraham Michaux and Descendants by J. D. Eggleston published in Genealogies of Virginia Families - from The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography.

Mosby Family Bible Records, 1765-1896, Powhatan County, VA transcribed on Rootsweb archives website shows: Littleberry Mosby married three times first Elizabeth Netherland, second Judith Michaux, third Mrs Martha (nee Scott) Thomas, sister of General Charles Scott

Notes for ELIZABETH NETHERLAND:
Elizabeth Netherland, daughter of John Netherland and Sarah Unknown, born 4 October 1746, died August 1769 is shown to be the spouse of Littleberry C. Mosby by Laurie Retzlaff. The name and marriage is confirmed by an entry in The Huguenot Abraham Michaux and Descendants by J. D. Eggleston published in Genealogies of Virginia Families - from The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography which shows her as the first wife of Littleberry Mosby. The children of his first wife (Elizabeth Netherland) were mentioned in Littleberry Mosby's last will and testament. However Laurie Retzlaff shows a marriage date of 13 August 1748 and if this is correct, then the birth date of 4 October 1746 is incorrect because she would have only been two years old at her marriage, so one or both of these dates are suspect.

Notes for JUDITH MICHAUX:
Judith Michaux, daughter of Jacob Michaux and Judith Woodson, is shown as "Judah" in her father's last will and testament of 13 December 1744, and was under legal age, married Littleberry Mosby as his second wife per Genealogies of Virginia Families from the Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, page 342, Volume 4, under Michaux family information. Laura Retzlaff shows she was born 1740 which is possible since she was considered underage in her father's last will and testament.
