Lois Woods Beasley, 78, died Saturday, August 8, 2009, at
Wexford House, Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN.
Born in Elizabethton, Carter Co TN, on March 1, 1931, Lois
was a native of Elizabethton and a graduate of Elizabethton
High School and East Tennessee State University.
Lois taught school for several years in both the Carter
County and Sullivan County school systems. She was a
member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church for
over 50 years.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, William Garce
and Carrie Greenway Woods, Elizabethton, TN; brothers,
George Woods, William Woods, Howell Woods, Jack Woods, and
Kyle Woods; and sister, Virginia Wood.
Lois is survived by her husband, Don M. Beasley; daughter,
Mary Beth Beasley and husband Glenn A. Rudner, New York
City, NY; sister, Sue Webb, Elizabethton, TN; brother,
Harry Woods and wife Linda, Elizabethton, TN, and their
son Job and wife Kim, Bluff City, TN; sister-in-law,
Juanita Woods, Bluff City, TN; nieces, Patricia Muncie and
husband Gerald, Bluff City, TN, and their family, Sarah
Tapley, and Stephanie and Amos Muncie, Valerie Carroll
and husband Del, Gray, TN, and Lisa Tester and husband
Mark, Johnson City, TN; nephews, Mike Wood and his wife
Vanessa, Church Hill, TN, and Howell Woods and wife Donna,
Elizabethton, TN; aunt, Ruth Greenway; and cousins, Peggy
Rustis, Bluff City, TN, Charlotte Newton, and Joan Bowers
and husband Howard, Melbourne, FLA.
A private family service conducted by the Rev. Jack P.
Weikel will be held in the near future.
