After some digging at the Harrodsburg (KY) Historical Society and the cemetery at the Old Mud Meeting House in Mercer County, I am almost convinced that the wife of Archibald Woods (d. 1783) was Mary Scomp. This is based on an inventory of the tombstones at the cemetery compiledby a lady around 1910.There are two Mary Woods buried there, but the onewhose dates are "correct" (1735-1821) is inscribed "Mary Scomp Woods." the other Mary Woodswas born in 1725 and died in 1810. If this is correct, it appears the she is buried near (two plots) her son-in-law, David Adams, who was married to her daughter, Elizabeth Woods.Scomp is an uncommon name, but I suspect it is an Anglicized version of the German(?) surname "Schamp." There are several Schamps buried in this cemetery. I have copies of this "inventory" if any one is interested. Thanks,Joseph Yates
