Hello David
Your posting for the name "Elgie" Woods caught my attention, the DOB is not the same for my "El_gar" but here is what I have on my line of Woods in case it might fit in with your line.
I have been searching for information on my grandmothers children by her second marriage to Joseph Glen Woods. I located in the 1920 census records Wyoming,Albany co. it lists Joseph Woods POB ILL, his fathers POB Ohio, his mothers POB NY.
Childrens names are Donald, El_gar ? (difficult to read census) age 16, Geneva age 11, Robert age 8, Helen age 4, it also lists my grandmother as Nellie Calkin POB Iowa(Calkin was her 1st husbands name) two children are listed as Ilene Calkin age 1 and John Calkin age 4, per information from my great aunt, Ilene and John were the children of Glen Woods. In a letter from my great aunt the Woods children were placed in an orphans home in Cheyene WY abt 1920, their father deceased and mother unable to provide for them.In my aunts letter my grandmother had 5 children by Glen Woods.
My grandmothers name was Ira Neal Ricket, 1st marriage Calkins, only one child Charles Edward Calkins, 2nd marriage was to Glen Woods and 5 children by this marriage,Geneva, Robert, Helen, Ilene & John. 3rd marriage to admiral Coggins, 2 children Betty Coggins and Berley Coggins (my mother).
I was told that the 5 children of Woods were adopted and I don't know if they kept the name Woods.
Thanks
Millie
