Do your records show any information regarding the grandparents of John G. Woods (born June, 1828 and married Mary Wilson? John G.'s father was also named John.He was married to Livily/Lively Woods. Lively's last name given as Woods on the marriage bond.Bondsmen were Henderson Woods and ELI WOODS.Witness was Samuel T. Tilley. According to the 1880 census of Orange County, North Carolina, Lively was living in the household of John G. Woods, listed as his mother, widowed, and 76 years old.
On the 1850 census for Orange County, North Carolina, this Lively, age 45, is shown next household to John G. and his family. She is living with MARGARET Woods, age 44; Lively's son George Woods, age 8; and a man named James Riggs, age 60.
The marriage records for Orange County shows a James Riggs married to a MARY Woods September 17, 1836. John and Lively also had a child named George, born about 1842, so I know that this John died between 1841 and the date of the 1850 census, when Lively was shown without John. Is it possible that the John Woods (died before 1851) that you list as the son of Joseph Woods is the father of my John G. Woods? Do your records show anything about my particular Woods?I would so much appreciate your help with any information, hints or clues!
