Emsley Lawson was born March 6, 1878 in Garland County, Arkansas and died on April 15, 1948. He is buried in the Eastland cemetery. He married Latha Hazard. She was born on February 4, 1881 and died on May 13, 1965. The family called him Loss.
Loss was a city police officer in Eastland County from 1915 to 1932. Later he became a deputy sheriff and then Sheriff of Eastland County from 1936 to 1942.
In the letter you sent you mention Willie Fox. She may or may not be related. William Uel Fox and Martha Gullett had two daughters Lydia Ellen Fox married John Alexander Woods. He was the son of Henry Bradford Woods and Adeline Jane Bell. The other daughter, Martha Ann Fox married Wiley Wilburn Terry. He was the son of John Washington Terry and Martha Caroline Woods. (Caroline was the sister to Henry Bradford Woods).
I do not know the relationship of the Bourlands or Durham's. My cousin may be able to answer your questions. Yes, it does seem like somewhere down the line we are all related and ended up in Eastland County. I do not know of a relationship of the Woods family with Missouri or the Potter Family. Best of luck with your quest. Diane
