Thank you for clearing that up.I just thought Loss was a really neat name. The letter said that he was sheriff in 1939 in what looks like Eastland Co TX.
I don't have much to add on the Woods. Our Durhams' and Bourlands were related. One of the Bourlands that was a brother to our Bourland who married into the Durhams' had a daughter Ovia Nabors who married William Mason Nabors who was also the son of William Jackson 'Jack' Nabors.I was sent this letter from my cousin who couldn't decipher it so I thought maybe it would have something to do with our Durhams' and set out to find out but it looks just like what the letter said, about old timers in Eastland Co TX during 1939.What I can't figure out is why they were writing to each other.I mean, they were distant cousins being of the Nabors and Bourlands but what prompted Oliver Samuel or Charles Osso Durham to write to this family in 1939, unless they were letting cousins know about their mother, Mary Catherine Bourland Durham's death in 1934.I really don't know.
I will keep searching. It seems like everyone in all the counties is somehow related.........
Are you any kin to the Woods in Ozark or Douglas Co MO that married into the Potter family?
