Hello Cherrie, I have been trying to find the parents to my William. We found him in the Bedford County, TN census of 1850 and at that time he was married to a Rachael. His son James Woods was also living in the county with his family. Williams son James was born abt. 1806-7 in TN but William was born in NC in 1786 according to the census. I was looking into the LDS records and I saw two Williams who were born in NC in that year. One of them I have ruled out but the other William had a father by the name of James and James was married to a Margaret. The date was the same and the state was the same as well a strong possibility that my William named his son after his grandfather (a quess). We thought that maybe my Williams father might be John but I haven't been able to find any Johns with a son William that was born in 1786 so that is why I'm checking on this James who had a son name William. William, and John as first names are used thoughout my family history right up to the present along with also Thomas, George. My James was married to Jane Morris and they lived in E. TN then remarried later to Anne Earp in Franklin County and moved to Bedford County. One of James sons, Mitchell who is my gg grandfather was born in Hamilton County and Jane Morris parents lived in McMinn county. James Married Anne in Franklin County in 1842.
