My Samuel Woods may have married Annie Tate. This information comes only from my grandmother (Samuel's niece) when my mother and I talked with her when I was a child. She didn't seem sure even then.I can't ask her again as unfortunately she now suffers from long and short term memory loss.
Do you have any dates? My grandmother was born in 1918 her mother was born in 1893.Her father was Samuel Woods' brother.
The whole family is, at this point in our history, based in Greater Manchester.Does this tie in with what you know?
My mum and I have just spent this weekend going through some old photo's which had been passed down to and kept by my grandmother.I'm sure there's one of "Samuel and Sammy (baby)" with a woman (Samuel's wife) who I cannot remember the name of.We're not sure who they are but it may be Samuel Woods.
I hope this helps even in some small way.
Ruth
