I still have no idea if my husb.'s Woods family connects to these Woods back in Dallas Co. AL. I still haven't been able to find his g.g.gr.father in Miss. on any census record with his Blakely g.g.gr.mother or his g.gr.father. If I could, that would confirm his name which thru the family is said to have been Joseph Woods, also though, it is said he was a Robert Woods, then more info. he was an Oliver Woods. I have a big dilemma here I can't get straightened out to even research him back......So therefore, this is my TOTAL DEAD END, (grin). It is told in the family that their Woods family came from So. Carolina some say No. Carolina......That is why I was interested in this Thomas Woods back there in Dallas Co. AL hoping it would lead to a conn. in Miss. but it hasn't.
I also have Woods family via my maternal gr.mother in Miss., also found as Wood sometimes in Miss. Mine also seems to have come from AL bef. MS and SC bef. AL.....I have found mine, my 3rd. g.gr.father was a Hamiton H. Woods or Wood who is in Chickasaw Co. AL by 1845 but so far, I can't conn. him back either.....He had sons Richard, Rufus, Phelix, Reuben and John, all born in Chickasaw Co. MS......So if you see any familiar names there, let me know, I seem to know a little more abt. them....sorry I couldn't be of more help to you, Kay.......
