I think they were probably brothers. Alexander was a merchant in Falmouth, King George Co., VA. Andrew resided in Hampshire Co., VA and was Adm of the Estate of Alexander. According to his will (mentioned in Vol 2 of Hennings Virginia Statutes), Alexander's heir(s) resided in England. Andrew was in the Rev; I'm not sure about Alexander. It appears that in VA, Alexander did not have a family so perhaps he did not marry. The death of Alexander of a stroke, age 45, was mentioned in The Virginia Gazette 5 Sept 1777, p2, col 3. Andrew married (1)Mary Ann Wilson dau of George and (2)Mary Harrison. He had children from both marriages.
