How interesting!
Info is scant, but my grandfather, Frank Woodley was born around 1881 in Tasmania and moved to South Africa in 1900 apparently in the Royal Australian Army during the Boer War. He married there and had a son Clive (d.1937).
In the Great War Frank was with the South African forces first in SW Africa then in East Africa. After the war he settled in Kenya and married again and had a daughter, Judy and my father William (Bill) in 1929. Frank Woodley died in 1938 so little is remembered about him and nothing at all about his descendants and an official search proved negative. I am also named William although I go by my lifelong nickname of Bongo.
Perhaps there's a link?
