Hi Neil,
One of my greatgrandmothers was Eliza Woodley daughter of Charles Woodley and Jane nee Bowleys. Eliza's family lived in Clapham and Streatham. Eliza was born in 1833. She married John George Brooker in 1853 in St. Mary Newington, however, they lived in Clapham. Eliza appears to have died about 1874 as I have not found her after 1871 in the censuses. Her husband, John George is practically always found under George probably because his father was also John and they lived with his parents until they died in 1862 and 1863 respectively. Don't know if this is the same family as your Battersea Woodleys.
