Hi Mick

William Woodley was tried at Oxford Quarter Session on 16/7/1816. His native place is listed as 'Oxfordshire', his calling "Labourer", age 39 years (which would have him be born approx. 1777), Height: 5' 7", Complexion: Dark, Hair: Grey, Eyes: Hazel. He was sentenced to 7 years.

Mick, it just seems that those Woodley lads were rather naughty! My UK geography knowledge is not what it should be (even though I visited 18 months ago from Australia!), but I don't think that Oxfordshire and Devon are close by (but I could be wrong!!!)

I hope this helps. If you need anymore details about William, just let me know.

Cheers
Jo
