I would highly suspect that your "Wooddisse" family name is just another variation for the name "Woodis". I sent this message last year and will repeat it here:

"Look for these variations as well: Woodas, Woodus, Wooddas, Wooddus, Wooddis, Woodes and you might look at Woods if there is reason to suspect that someone recorded it in error that way. I have found my Littleberry Woodis and William H. Woodis with all of these variations - never thought of Woodias, though!
Littleberry was born about 1783 as estimated from US Census records in NC and removed to Christian Co., KY prior to 1818 when his son, William was born in Christian Co., KY (William died there in 1913! I have his death certificate!). Littleberry married Luvana Blalock and William married Amanda Black in 1837 in Christian Co., KY. Anyone else connected to this line? JGW "
