I believe that I can help a little.
Gervas is not the most common first name and I have seen a lot of references to various men with that name in the records of the Doncaster Archives.
I am planning to visit there again shortly to photograph some Wills.
I have one photocopy of part of a Will, but Doncaster Archives cannot remove the seals which confirm that the Will has been Proved and on the photocopy machine it covers a good part of the lower end of the will.
I think that a digital photograph may be possible to link with other photographs to patch them together to get a full copy of the parchment. They are fairly large documents.
It seems that the family were large landowners living in England around a place called Owston Ferry in Lincolnshire.
All the records are from a Solicitors company which closed some years ago. They are mainly land exchanges around the years from 1671 to 1902.
If I can get a reasonable photograph, do you want one?
