Joseph John/Epsy Woodham
My grandfather was JOHN ALTO WOODHAM. He was the son of JOSEPH JOHN and Epsy Woodham.
John Alto was born Henry County,Al ,moved to Geneva County,Al. in 1911-then to Holmes County ,Fl.(Noma)1918.A farmer, sheriff, Mayor and businessman in Noma. He died 3 Aug 1955.
John Alto had four children from his marriage to Naomi (Kirkland).

Essie D. born 21 Dec 1909 (Mrs.Essie D. Wamble)
Johnnie Lou born 4 Feb 1916(Mrs Henry Grady Myers)
Geraldine born 28 March 1923(Mrs. Thomas Hatcher)(deceased)
According to my Aunt Essie-" Granddaddy John Joseph had eight children by his 2nd wife Epsy.Their children were :

3.Willie-died 20 Mar 1957
4.Pearlie
5.Adus-killed by lightning
6.Malcolm-died 1976
7.Daisy
8.Terrel-died 28 Oct 1949
After Grandmother Epsy died Uncle Malcom came to live with John Alto and family. He was treated as "one of the childen".
Uncle Terrel (Dock) went to live with Uncle Willie.Uncle Willie moved from Henry County to Madrid,Fl.-to Lakeland--to Tampa.
Aunt Daisy went to live with Uncle Hope.She later married but I don't know to whom."
Tullis (Sr),son of John Alto,and grand son of Joseph John,married Mildred Julia Williams. They had 3 children:

TULLIS JOSEPH JR.married Martha Joanne(Jo) Woodham 30 Oct 1948.They had 3 children:

BRIAN LEE married Pamela Hickman and have 2 sons.
CRISTOPHER LEE born 4 Sept 1986
THOMAS JOSEPH(TJ)born 5 Sept 1990
Live in Tampa,Fl
Tullis J.Jr.served in the US Marine Corps for 36 years and retired as a Colonel.Currently lives in Myrtle Beach,SC.
There is more that might be of interest but this should update to some degree what I see as a missing trail for my branch of Joseph John's descendants in the little research I have accomplished.
I am interested in any info,or directions to info,about Joseph John Woodham. Particularly anything about his civil war service,,unit,etc.I would like to find data that would satisfy membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
I also am inquisitive as to why there have been so many Tullis Woodham's. There are 5 on record.Where did the name originate? What significance did it have for the Woodham's?
