Karen:

I don't know for sure but I believe the Grandson of Thomas Woodfin,IV, Emmitt S. Woodfin. He tells us there was three brothers from Cheshire Co,England. John, Thomas,II and Edward and they came in country about 1717. He has Samuel, I born in 1722.
So MHK 's John, the father of Samuel, may be
his John. Samuel's brother Thomas was not the father to Thomas and Arthur since they married Powhatan,VA sisters and this Thomas was issuing other boys at the same time. Their father may have been a brother of Samuel, II and George of Cumberland CO. VA.

What I don't understand why would someone leave the paradise of Barbadoes for Cold Virginia in 1700? Food for thought...
