Robert M. Wooden and "Malinda" Willhoit were issued a marriage license in Jefferson Co., KY on Feb. 15, 1819.Joshua Miller Wooden was the fourth child of 10 children born to Robert M. and Malinda Wooden.I am not aware of a Isaac Wooden being a child. I believe there is a Isaac Wooden, however, I don't know what lineage.Robert M. Wooden was born 1-1, 1796 in Oldham Co., KY and Malinda Willhoit was born Feb. 24, 1800 in Oldham Co. or Henry Co., KY.This is the information I have on their 10 children:
1)Susan b. 2-14-1820, d 1-24-1896 m. William Harbin
Fritts on 6-19-1834.It appears Susan died and was
buried in Owen Co., IN.Susan and William had 10
children and I believe all died within 1 year of
birth except for 3 sons.
2)Jefferson is eldest son b. 5-27-1821 d. aft. 1884
m. Mary Emeline Wilson 1-14-1844 in Owen Co., IN
Jefferson and Mary Wooden had 4 children, Leannor,
Thena, John R. and Malinda B. (died before 1884).
3)James Robert b. 1821 ?, Gosport, IN d. 9-7-1916 Iowa
4)Joshua Miller (Info. I have is) b. 6-23-1822 or 1823
in Oldham Co., KY, d. 1849-1911?, m. Penelope Pope
Yager b. 2-15-1822 Morgan Co., IN, d. 7-29-1899.
5)Paschal b. 1824-1825
6)George Washington b. 1826, d. 1854-1917? m. Harriet
E. Baxter, Shelby Co,IN on 5-30-1848
7)Jeremiah b. 3-7-1829, d. 4-27-1918 Gosport, Owen Co.,
IN, m. Jane (Jennie) Alexander on 5-14-1854, b. 1816
I believe in Little Mount, IN, d. 7-23-1899 Owen Co.
8)Andrew Jackson b. 1832, KY, d. ? m. Amanda Johnson
11-24-1858 in Owen Co., IN, she b. 2-28-1833, IN
(Andrew J. and Amanda Wooden had 6 children, James,
Judson, Elba, Minnie, Lola, and Harvey all born in
Owen and Morgan Co., IN) Andrew J. and Amanda are
my great, great grandparents.Their daughter, Minnie
was my great grandmother. She married Edward O. Brown
Feb. 16, 1900 in Morgan Co., and they had four
daughters:Bernice B., Edith Marie (my grandmother)
Anglessia, and Naomi. Also, Amanda Johnson Wooden
had a twin sister named Miranda.
9)Ibby b. 1833 or 1834?
10)John ?
I believe that one of the sons became a doctor.I haven't been able to confirm which one.Do you know anything about that? Also, Robert M. Wooden was killed in the line of duty in April 1836.He was the Sheriff of Owen Co., from 1827-1831 and then 1835-1836 during his second term when he was killed.Do you have any information about his death?Robert M. Wooden was in the State Legistature from Owen Co., a Colonel in the War of 1812.He was also a County Clerk of some type in Owen Co. because he was appointed to overseeing marriages, and wills, etc.I do have records from Owen Co., IN where Mr. Jefferson H. Woodsmall married Malinda after Robert M. died. They married on 2-4-1840 and then Jefferson Woodsmall adopted 8 of the 10 children on May 12, 1840.I think Susan and Joshua were already out of the home because they are not listed as adopted.Susan married in 1834 and Joshua was at least 18 years old.Although Jefferson is listed as one of the 8 children adopted, and he was the eldest son, I am assuming he stayed at home to help take care of the other children, handle the farm and help his mother with everyday needs.
If I stand to be corrected on any of the above information, please do so.Most of my information has been confirmed. However, if you have other information or additional information to share, I would greatly appreciate your help. Please feel free to email direct to:

Also, I'll keep in touch if I find any information on Isaac.Thanks.
