I left out one thing. An explanation of the term Non-Juror.
From the book by Peden, I quote:
Early in 1778, a law was passed requiring all men to take the Oath of Fidelity and Allegiance to the State of Maryland. Those who refused to take the Oath were to be designated as Non-Jurors. Refusal to take the Oath did not necessarily imply loyalty to the Crown. Soldiers were not required to take the Oath, and members of some religious groups, such as members of the Society of Friends, refused to take any Oaths as a matter of Conscience. Unpublished sources indicate that 2,203 men of Baltimore County took the Oath, while the Minutes of the Baltimore County Court for 1778 listed 2,211 Nob-Jurors (or Non-Associators).
