I am looking for information on James C. Woodbury who was a Maine sea captain. He was born around 1803 and lived for some time at Deer Isle/Isle au Haut Maine. He later moved to Searsport, Waldo County, Maine. He disappears from the census records after 1860 although his wife, Catherine, and several of their children are still living there. I assume he died during this period. He must have been married to a woman named Ephounda before Catherine as she appears with him in an earlier census. There were nine children, Stephen, Mary J., Benjamin, Reuben, Adelaide, Abigail B., William H., Francis A. and Caro Ella born from 1839 to 1859. I only know about Stephen who was my direct ancestor who was also a sea captain. James was captain of a schooner named the Leo in 1853. Does anyone have any information on this family? I would love to know where he was born, when he died and where he is buried, more about his family and the two wives and any of the children.
