One of the oldest settlers and a highly respected citizen of this township died at the home of his daughter, MRS. C.A. DAVIS, Sunday. MR. NORTHRUP received a broken hip a short time ago from a fall on the ice, and although he has been quite feeble for some time, but however being able to be around, the shock from the fall no doubt hastened his death. The funeral was conducted from the house Monday afternoon by Masonic Order, interment being made in the Garden Grove Cemetery.

LESTER ARNEY NORTHRUP was born Feb. l3, l826 in Kirkland, Oneida County, N.Y., died at the home of his daughter, MRS. C.A. DAVIS, Garden Grove, Feb. l4, l904, aged 78 years and l day. He came to Garden Grove in the fall of l854 where he soon after met MARY WOODBURY to whom he was married Jan. 8, l856. To this union were born two children, HATTIE W., now MRS. DAVIS and EDNA P., now MRS. HENDRICK, of Ft. Lupton, Colo., who was unable to be with him in his last sickness. His wife preceded him to the better land Jan. 27, l892.
