Four Scottish-born Woodburn-Heron brothers in 1700s Jamaica
I am interested in hearing from anyone who knows any of the oral tradition stories concerning the four Scottish-born WOODBURN-HERON brothers namely, Captain William Woodburn-Heron; and Captain John Woodburn-Heron (of the English army); Captain Alexander Woodburn-Heron and Captain Robert Woodburn-Heron (of the English Navy), who in the 1700s, settled on the Mount Nelson plantation (in the then-parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica),since 1814 in the parish of Manchester.
These four gentlemen lived in Jamaica during the 1700s and were cousins to Captain Alexander George Heron, RN, of Williamsfield Great House & Pen (called plantataion after the 1800s) and cousins to Major Alexander Heron of Wigton, South Manchester, and his brother, Captain Robert Heron, and Dr. Andrew Heron (who resided in Jamaica for 37 years before returning to Scotland).
The Mount Nelson area is now an upscale housing development in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica. Wigton is now owned by a Goverment agency and home of the "Wigton Windfarm" project in South Manchester, Jamaica
If you can also point me to written documents about the above-mentioned four gentlemen or the Mount Nelson plantation, I would be very grateful.
Sincerely
Bev.
