I am very interested in the information you have.I think I tried to respond back to you on this site but it must not have gone through.A little about me:I grew up in Tioga, North Dakota, graduated from the Univ. of North Dakota, worked in Willmar, MN for several years and now work as a Probation/Parole Agent in Casper, WY.I started geneology work while taking Norwegian classes at UND.The Dakota Wonsers have always thought we were German immigrants.I started contacting numerous counties in ND,MN,OH,WI and MI to gain census records. In particular I was trying to find out when the Wonsers came over, etc.A county historian in Ohio hooked me up with Ruth McCormick Wonser from Michigan who enlightened me to the fact that the Wonsers are Dutch and go back to the early 1600's in America. She provided several copies of documents that were helpful.I then began my quest to link our family line to the that original ancestor Jan Jansen DeKaper. My first hurdle was to learn the name and history of my Great-great grandfather. My great-grandfather was Jasper Newton Wonser. No one new his fathers name or history. After leaving college I found little time to work on this but would occasionally pick it up and make some contacts.Access to the internet has helped immensly.I eventually contacted a Wonser in Florida, who happens to have the same name as my father, Norman Wonser. He suggested that my g-g-grandfather was Israel Hamlin Wonser. The birth dates and locations matched and Jasper had a brother named Hamlin (or with Hamlin in the name).I have not had time to prove this yet but someday will be able to work on this more.I would like to find time soon to update the FamilyTreeMaker geneology program data that I have all my names in and then update my FTM home page. Please let me know what you have and what your Wonser lineage is.
