Obituary of Benjamin Middleton Wolverton, d. 5/15/1909, Harrison Co., WV AGED CITIZEN PASSES AWAY Benjamin Wolverton Dies at Glen Falls at Advanced Age Funeral Held Sunday Benjamin Middleton Wolverton was born near Romney, Virginia, now West Virginia, January 16, 1828. At the age of 16 years connected himself with the Baptist church and remained a faithful and consistent member until his present rest. He was married Oct. 1847, to Miss Anna Brown and to this union were given nine children; 7 boys and 2 girls, which 3 boys and 2 girls survive him. Those living are; J. N. [Jasper Newton] Wolverton, of Salem; C. B. [Clinton Burgess] Wolverton, of Glenn Falls; B. I. [Benjamin Irving] Wolverton, of Buckhannon; Mrs. Sarah C. McConkey, of Copen; Mrs. Elizabeth E. Cole, of Jane Lew. Mrs. Anna Brown Wolverton died June 04, 1900; age 77 years, 2 months and 24 days. She was followed to rest by her husband May 15, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 29 days. Since the death of his beloved companion he has ever wished that he might rest in peace with Jesus. During his brief illness of about two weeks he bore his pain in praise, not in sorrow. At the request of the family to sing songs, "The Grand Word, Whosoever," "Wonderful Peace" and "Highest Ground" he joined with praise that he had secured this wonderful peace and said, "All is glory." The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Glenn Falls conducted by Rev. Corder, of St. Paul M. E. Church, South, and interment was made in the family cemetery.
