PERSONAL.
Lew YOUNG was at home over Sunday.
Miss Grace STEARNS went to Leon yesterday.
Geo. M. PENCE of Centerville, was in town Saturday and made us a pleasant
call.
Ed BROOKS and Mr. BOBBITT of Leon were in town over Monday night on business.
Will MCCONNELL of Corydon visited his sister Della Monday afternoon between
trains.
Mrs. Ralph BAKER started for Ohio Thursday, and if her mother is able to
travel expects to bring her home with her.
D. DREYFUS of St. Louis, proprietor of the millinery store, was in town
Saturday and made us a pleasant business call.
F. D. BAKER and Mrs. J. P. JORDAN went to Lineville Friday. The former on
business, and the latter on a visit to her relatives at that place.
Mrs. J. W. HIGBEE and family started for their home in Colorado Thursday.
Her father, Esq. BRILEY, accompanied them as far as Chariton.
Frank CHEMBERLIN came from Milo Saturday and stopped over night at home, on
his way to Lamoni, where he is filling the agent's place during a temporary
absence.
Rev. BEER started for Chicago to attend a meeting of the board of directors
of McCormick Seminary of which he is a member. He expects to return the latter
part of the week.
Mr. and Mrs. John WOLVERTON and son Walter started last week for an extended
visit in California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and the National Park. They
expect to be gone about four months.
Rev. James BRYAN is expected to day and will remain over Sunday with his
father-in-law. We are glad to announce that he will preach at the M. E. Church
Sunday morning and evening.
