The Woolever family and the Wolverton/Woolverton families were entirely distinct. I have come across the names' being confused, but never have I come across their being confused by members of the families themselves. It looks very much as though the Woolever family is the one in which you should be interested. I have encountered it in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, but my interest being in Wolvertons I have never tried to follow the Woolevers.
