Jesse Woltz was a son of Dr. Peter and Maria (Breitengross) Woltz. He married (Sept. 30, 1816) Elizabeth Canode, at Lancaster, OH. They had ten children. Jesse was a well-known cabinet-maker. He also built household furniture, coffins and piano cases. A couple of pieces of his elegant cabinetry are still housed in the museum in Lancaster, Ohio.
