I would be interested in getting generations prior to George.
Amy Hester Alice Woltz (m-John Brooker 1855 in Ontario) is my gg-grandmother. She was orphaned at age 11 and went to work in Detroit, MI. She and John Brooker married when she was 16 and had 8 children.
Our oral family records have Silas Woltz coming to the United States from Germany in the early 1840's, settling in Ohio. He married Mary Ann Dewhirst, as posted, on Nov 23, 1831 in Hocking Cty, OH. Mary Ann was christened on Jan 10, 1813 in Lincolnshire England, died circa 1850 in Ontario. She moved with her family to NY in 1823. The Dewhirst family later moved to OH.
We know Amy Hester Alice Woltz as Esther Alice b Jul 11, 1839. I believe she moved to Ontario after her father Silas' death. It is believed that Mary Ann re-married Titus England and they moved their family from OH to Ontario.
Looks like it was 2 children that came to Ontario. I have, along with Esther :
Lewis b Nov 22, 1832, m-Francis( b-Quebec 1836) d- Apr 10 1913 of old age.
I would appreciate any info !
