Hi Bob, Barcroft's parents were Joseph W. christened 24th December,1780 at bury St. Mary, Lancashire, C. of E. he was a weaver, farmer, carter, married Rachel Barcroft, 14th February, 1804, married at Bury, parish church, by rev. Henry Unsworth. Rachel's parents were Barnard Barcroft & Margaret Dent. Lancashire parish records spell name Woolstenholme.Barnard called Barnett, in I.G.I. or Bernard.Also hand written document by Barcroft W c. 1890. Barcroft & Rachel went forth & sure did multiply in Bury, as did heaps of Wolstenholmes, they had 11 children, Barnard 1804;Ann 1807;Esther 1809;Samuel 1812; Ellen 1814;Barcroft 1817 my g. grandfather; John 1820; Joseph 1821;Rachel 1824; Eliza & Jane (twins)1827. all born in parish of Walmersley, Lancashire. Alice's maiden name was, I think,Kirkman, born 18th April,1823, of course in Bury Lancas.! have fun working this all out. regards Gwenyth.
