I am Lyle Wollmann. I live in Wolfcreek Township, which borders Kassel Township, in Hutchinson County , west of Freeman, South Dakota. My great, great grandfather was Melvin Wollmann, and I believe he came to America from Russia. His forefathers were from Austria and migrated to Russia durring the Rule of Kathrine the Great, to escape religious persecution. They prospered there, but when the communists took over they lost their religous freedom as well as their wealth. They then moved to America. Melvin had childern, but the only one I know is Dave, My great grand father who lived 1/4 mile East of me. He had 4 children, Elizabeth, Kathrine, David (my grandfather) born 1896 and Jacob. Kathrine married Mike J. Hofer but had no children. Elizabeth married Isaac I Walter and had 4 children, Gladys, Adina, Amos, Dave, and Isaac Jr..
David married Justina Glanzer, and had 1 child, Solomon born 1923 (my father).
Jacob married Anna Hofer and had 1 child David M.. Solomon married Mary Kleinsasser and had 2 children, Lyle (Me) born 1950 and Lynette born 1957. I married Sharon Saner and had 2 children Jeffrey,.born 1975 and Alex born 1987.
Pleas contact me. I would be THRILLED to hear from some of my "cousins".
