I am looking for information on the Jacob Wolff family. Below are the only details I know. They do not make since to me, however, as my great-grandmother Emelie (also called Amelia or Emelia)lived and married in Wisconsin.

I am wondering how the Jacob Wolff family came to the US and why some of the family settled in Texas and Okalahoma. Any information would be appreciated.

Jacob Wolff was born in Germany in 1829. He was married twice. His first wife died in Germany and he then married Karoline Hoffmann. He had four children with his first wife and eight children with his second wife. Two of Jacob's children, a girl and a boy, stayed in Germany. The boy's name was Ferdinand. Jacob died on January 1, 1899, at the age of 70. He is buried in Burton, Texas. His second wife, Karoline, is buried in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Below is a list of the children that came to the United States:

       Augusta       November 21, 1855
       Michael       September 17, 1858
       Matt              January 13, 1861
       William       June 20, 1864
       Emelie              September 27, 1868
       Mathilda       November 27, 1870
       Herman       Unknown
       Gustaf              1874
       Julius              May 12, 1878
       Karl              March 18, 1884

The Second Generation

Emelie Wolff was born September 27, 1868, in Lankotwtz Posin, Germany. Came to the United States and to Avoca, Wisconsin in 1883. She married John Moore in 1893.
