We have recently been able to establish a Wolf/Wolfe/Wolff blood line with ONLY TWO (yet to be connected) DNA identified branches. These two branches of this Wolf blood line were determined by the FTWDNA testing program, but, descendants of these two branches CANNOT find the connnection where the two merge together Branch 1 - Starts with: Jacob Wolf b. 1740 Place - Unknown and Parents - Unknown. We think he came from PA with Capt. Peter Hedrick to NC during Revolutionary War but have no documented proof. He is first found when appointed constable in Salisbury, NC in 1788. He is well documented from there to Ky to AR, where he died in 1831. His grandson, Major Jacob Wolf was sent to AR as Indian Agent and so the entire clan except for one daughter, Margaret Wolf Settles, left KY and went to AR by 1820. No wife is known for the elder, Jacob Wolf. Only one son, Michael Wolf and wife Mary Magdalena Catherine Hedrick Wolf, is proven. Another Son, George Wolf is suspected as this person lived adjecent to Jacob and Michael in KY and sold his land in KY in 1820 when jacob and Michael were also selling land. Court documents show George going to Lawrence Co., MO at time of that transaction, but we have never been able to locate the George Wolf in MO or elsewhere. Branch 2 - Starts with: John Wolfe b. about 1796 in MD?. He is first found in TN where he married Martha Clifton and had four children. He is well documented forward from there also, but his parents are NOT known, either, and his birth state of MD could prove to be wrong. The two men, themselves, are about 45 years apart in age, so probably not of the same generation. If you are a descendant of either of these two branches of this family or have any information that might help us with our search for ancestors of either Jacob Wolf b. 1740 or the John Wolfe b. 1796, please let us know.
