Dear Kathleen, I am happy to inform you we are related. I am the great-great granddaughter of Charles D and Avis (Edmond) Wolcott. And, rest assured, we are related to Oliver Wolcott. His ancestor was Simon, the youngest son of Henry Wolcott and Elizabeth Saunders Wolcott of Shropshire, England. Our ancestor was George, who married Elizabeth Treat, sister of the eventual governor of the colony, Robert Treat. So, we are related to two of Connecticut's governors! Our family came to Windsor, Conn. in the 1630s. They were Puritans, and were escaping religious persecution. My great-grandfather, Roy Kenneth, passed away in the late 1960s. Are you familiar with the Canadaigua area? My mother is originally from the area. I wish you all the best in your endeavors. If there is any more information I can send along, let me know. Sincerely, Erin Napper Notify Administrator about this message?
