I have recently started researching my mothers family tree and have discovered that her grandmother was the former Parthena J. Wofford of Cassville,Georgia. She was the daughter of Wade H. Wofford who is the first cousin of Confederate General William T. Wofford. Parthena married G.W. Peacock (soldier in 18th Georgia Infantry Regiment-company A) in 1869. G.W. went to work on the Cartersville-Van Wert Railroad that General Wofford help start. He was a conductor at the Stilesboro,GA station then later at the station in Rockmart,GA where he and Parthena settled and had a bunch of boys.They were well known in the area.
