And more likely than not, your Elizabeth Ann Wofford descends through Absalom Wofford and Hannah Wofford. This has been the hardest line to track down. I know that my Cynthia Wofford b. abt. 1815 GA is a descendant of this couple, but cannot prove which son of theirs was her father. Have eliminated who isn't her father.
Also Martha Wofford b. abt. 1825 also descends through this line, again cannot prove which son. I do believe that Cynthia and Martha were either sisters or first cousins.
Cynthia was married first to Wesley M. Cooley, and had two children. Cynthia married second to Hiram Allen.
Martha Wofford married Isom B. Allen, son of Hiram Allen and his first wife. After Martha's death, Isom B. Allen remarried to his step sister Doleska Cooley.
All of this took place in Jackson County, GA.
Absalom and Hannah Wofford have been credited with 16 children, but I do believe that some of these children were in fact grandchildren and not children.
I'm also not sure that Absalom Wofford b. abt. 1784 and supposely died 1815, did die in 1815 as there is an Absalom Wofford age 75 in Floyd Co. GA in 1860 who was born about 1784, married to a Susan age 75 and a daughter, Peggy age 40.
There are so many missing descendants from Absalom and Hannah Wofford.
