Woerners in Camden NJ, 1860-1920
Charles C. [G?] and Anna Woerner of Wurtemberg [Germany] appear in the 1860 census for Camden NJ.He is apparently the Charles Woerner in the 4th NJ Infantry Regiment from 1861-1863.He seems to have been born about 1831.Anna might have been christened Mary Anna Renz or Rince, and was born around 1836.
Their children were John H., Ellen [b. 1864], Caroline E. [b. 1866], Henry [b 1869], Harriet [b 1871], and Lizzie [b 1872].
Charles died in Camden in 1889; Anna died there in 1897
I am interested in information on Charles and Anna's families going back into Germany, and in their descendants.I am particularly interested in their son, John H. Woerner, born in late 1860 or early 1861. He appears, sometimes with his father, in several Camden city directories between 1878 and the late 1880s. Census and other documents list his surmane as Woerner, Werner, Worner, Warner, and probably others I have not yet found. He married Margaret Mullane of Ireland in 1882 and had a son, John Joseph Warner, between 1882 and 1884.
