I recently travelled to Putnam Co., NY. I just wondered if you have ever been to Hughson Cemetery. I was surprised to find that it looks like about 15 rows of bodies buried there. Many more than the dozen or so in the Pelletreau and Buys books on cemeteries of Putnam Co., etc. I have contacted the local historian to see if he could get a tombstone for Peleg Wixsom since Peleg was a Revolutionary War soldier. Do not even know if his place of burial can be found. It was raining the day we visited Hughson Cemetery and Shuble Wixsom's tombstone is probably the only Wixsom we can be pretty sure that we found. It is almost a thing of the past also. There are a lot of stubs of stones poking out of the ground. Shuble's stone was on the left (viewing from the entrance of the cemetery) almost to the back and probably last row next to the stone fence that surrounds the cemetery. Wonder how many of our Wixsom etc. family members have been lost to us since few names made the cemetery lists. Do you know of anyone else that has visited the cemetery. Would have been nice had it not rained. Probably even good weather though would not have helped to find anything more. Visited other cemeteries. Also saw Wixsom Pond. Wondered if you have had anyone else contact you that has visited the area. Elizabeth May hopefully a descendant of Shuble Wixsom Wonder though if you have ever had anyone contact you that is a descendant of the sons Elijah or Barnabas Wixsom, sons of Shuble Wixsom and Billetha. P.10 Wixom Book I My great-grandfather Smith Wixsom B. ca. 1820 NY shows up in Indiana with Shuble Wixsom the son of Shuble Wixsom and the family but there does not seem enough males in the family in census especially since Shuble Wixsom II in Wheeler, NY (Steuben Co.) 1835 has only two males which should be Shuble and Benjamin Wixsom, his son. Wonder if he could be otherwise related. The son Robert Wixsom stayed in Putnam Co. so his family seems accounted for but I have not accounted for the others.
