Caroline,I'm sure we must be related in some way.Graham traced my direct descendants back to Peter Witty,a yeoman of Middleton on the Wold in 1534. It's a pity the society is no more because I enjoyed reading the few newsheets I received and was amazed how far the family spread.
I am one of the Lincolnshire Wittys,my grandfather moved from Hull to work on the first steelworks in Scunthorpe,so I was a third generation steelworker until taking early retirement last April.
I'd be happy to help you in any way but I am not a dedicated researcher.
