Hi Barbara,

Well, I don't have all my info in front of me - so I will tell you what I can from memory.

Ezra Witter 1764 Massachusetts, dies 1832 Winchester, Franklin Co. TN. & Eunice Lee 22 Oct. 1769 New London, Connecticut. married 21 Jan. 1796. She died after 1840 before Dec. 29 1845 Cherokee County TX.

John Lee Witter 27 June 1798 Wilbraham MA. - died late 1841, early 1842 Dewitt Colony, Gonzales Co. TX. Married unknown. Had 4 children Charles Lowell, William E., Mary L. (who married Jonathan Nix) and Tully. (quite abit of info on Caldwell Co txgenweb on these 4. They are the 4 children mentioned (not by name) in the Z.N. Morrell dairy)
I first find him on 1830 Dyer County TN census. Then there are Land Warrant records for him at the Texas general land office (He did recieve a Warrant for 640 acres in August 1837 in Nacogdoches and it became unconditional in Gonzales Co).- I have quite a bit more info on him.

Robert Bruce Witter 3 may 1800 Wilbraham MA. (moved to Alabama)

Betsy Lee Witter (Eliza) 4 August 1803 Wilbraham MA.

Eunice Hall Witter 12 July 1808 Wilbraham MA. married Dr. Pleasant H. Butler in TN (probably Franklin Co) about 1829. They had 2 children, George W. Butler and Julia Blount Butler (my 3rd great grandmother). According to hers (Eunice Hall Butler) and her mothers (Eunice Witter) respective headrights, they arrived into texas in May 1839. According to all the various things I have, Eunice (Hall) Witter - (the mother) died in the Republic of Texas, which means before 29 Dec.1845. Eunice Hall (Witter) Butler - died in "Confinement" early (this from a family letter written by a great aunt to my great grandfather) - "Confinement" meant pregnant back in those days.

It is through Ezra Witter's father Asa Witter who married Joanne Kinneyu, that we find a direct lineage back to John Howland of the Mayflower.

well - we can correspond more if you like and I can slowly fill you in on all the details and sources of how I figured all this out.

Michael
