Hi:
I ran across this message while looking for additional info on Mary Jane Neill, wife of Charles Lowell Witter.Hopefully, my information will add to what you have written.Mary Jane Neill Witter was the sister of my 2gr-grandfather, Robert E. Neill Sr.Happy to share.
William E. Witter is, indeed, the son of Charles Lowell Witter and Mary Jane Neill.
In 1881, while returning from a successful trail drive with another son, Webster,Lowell Witter was robbed and murdered somewhere on the trail.Webster buried him at the site of his death (now unknown) and returned to his family in Lockhart, Caldwell County, Texas.Mary Jane had died in Hays County, Texas in 1879.There were two minor children left parentless, for whom William E. Witter, as the oldest living brother, applied for guardianship. The probate file is located in Caldwell County, Texas.
Children (and their spouses) ofCharles Lowell Witter and Mary Jane Neill are

* The Langhams are brothers.I do not know the relationship of the Lynches.
Mary Jane Neill Witter is buried on the Lynn Storm Ranch near Dripping Springs, in Hays County, Texas.
