I am a descendant of Thomas Witten and have lived in Tazewell County, VA most of my life. Dr. Witten was of an earlier generation than mine, and I never knew him personally. However, I have heard of him for most of my life and know he was one of the region's more famous characters. I am uncertain what sort of info you seek, but would be willing to try to help.
