Dear Forum,
We are looking for the ancestors of Anton Heinrich Witte, my great-grandfather who, we believe, emigrated from Rodinghausen, Westfalen, Prussia sometime before 1871, at which time he married Catherina Gellenbeck in St. Louis, Missouri. We have not been able to find his parents, but his marriage record suggests that he was born in Rodinghausen. We think he was born in 1844 +/- 5 years.
If anyone in this forum is familiar with any Witte families originating in this part of Germany or have any particular history of this individual, please let me know.
Any help would be appreciated!
