Hi Judy,
I believe you are correct that a John & Eunice Witt were the parents of this Benjamin Witt. I have found no definitive documentation of this and I reached this conclusion by a process of elimination. (Perhaps another researcher can offer more information.) A couple comments: The John Witt who was this Benjamin's father did not use the name "John B." as far as I know. John B. Witt was another son of this John Witt, therefore, brother of Benjamin. Also, numerous researchers have said that Benjamin's mother, Eunice, was a Creasey. This is probably correct; however, I personally have found no concrete documentation. It is confirmed that Thomas Creasey, a resident of the community under study here, had a daughter named "Unis".

This Benjamin Witt was born sometime 1780 to 1790 (per later census data). Based upon other records, I'm thinking he may have been born closer to 1780.

As I'm sure you do, I look forward to any information others can provide.
