My grandfather was Aloysius Witt and his parents were Frank X Witt and Margaret Reisenberger Witt. Frank's parents were Joseph Witt and Caroline Seeger – both born in Diersburg, Baden, Germany. I think Joseph was born around 1838 and Caroline around 1844.
They emigrated in late December 1882 and settled in Belleville, IL in January 1883. I am really trying to find Joseph and Caroline's parents and family in Germany to add to my family tree.
