The January 2008 issue of ANTIQUES magazine has an ad picturing a Massachusetts watercolor memorial painting "affectionately inscribed to the memory of Benjamin Witt who died April 17, 1818, aged 68 years."
I am scanning this page in case any of Mr. Witt's descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the Witt family ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the family.

If it were a memorial painting of a Mr. Pease, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me.
