My great grandfather was William Syrus (Cyrus) Witt and he lived in Indian Territory during the 1880's & 1890's. He had a daughter Nancy born in 1882 (I believe the first of his children born in Indian Territory) and was listed in the 1900 census as living in Chickasaw Nation, Twp 4, North R East, Indian Territory (OK). He moved to Texas with his family in 1900.
