Your subject line says that Manuel was born in Wisconsin but the body of your post says he was born in Sweden. Which is correct? His given name seems very unlikely for Sweden, but it is always possible that the parents heard of the name and liked it. What do the 1900-1910-1920-1930 U.S. Federal Censuses say about his year of immigration? If he arrived by 1900, what does the 1900 census say about his month and year of birth? Did the parents emigrate also? What details do you know about them. Without details, helpers can only guess. Your guesses should be much better than the guesses of strangers.
At any rate, I found a person who "might" be your N.P. Witman in the 1880 Swedish Census. He would have been far too young to be the father of someone born in 1877, however.He is probably not yours, but since you haven't provided any information about this man or his wife (except for names), it is the best that can be done for you right now.
By the way, I found NO Witman or Vitman hits in that census, but in those days, those names probably started with an H. Every Hvitman and Hwitman I found in that census came from the county of Norrbotten. However, it is possible and even likely that the name Witman was taken AFTER emigration. Swedes LOVE to change names.
