I have an Ed Withington whose father was named George. I don't know when he was born, but his brother Martin was born in 1823 in Mifflinburg, PA. Martin named one of his sons George Edward (born 1850). So there's a chance that my "Ed" was really George Edward as well. The family later lived in Northumberland. Does this sound like it might be a match?
